Kate Middleton Topless Photographer Named, To Be Arrested [PHOTOS]
The French police gave an update on the Kate Middleton topless scandal and according to reports; the photographer responsible for the said photos has been named.
Prince William and Kate Middleton were shocked when a set of photos were published by French magazine, Closer. The photos showed the couple sunbathing around the balcony of a French chateau and worse, it showed the Duchess without her bikini top. This violation of their privacy enraged Prince William, who demanded the arrest of the photographer to French courts.
Now that a name has been handed to French police, it seems that the freedom of this freelance photographer will not be for long.
"A name has been offered. The photographer is expected to be held for questioned imminently." said a source as reported by News.om.au. The French law states that anyone who breaches or violates privacy is subject to jail time (more than one year) or fining.
The court ruling that favored the royal couple states:
"These snapshots which showed the intimacy of a couple, partially naked on the terrace of a private home, surrounded by a park several hundred metres from a public road, and being able to legitimately assume that they are protected from passersby, are by nature particularly intrusive."
The courts added that the paparazzi showed a "brutal display" of this violation.
Valerie Suau, a civilian who also took photos of the royal couple while on their French vacation said there were no policemen around the Chateau's immediate area, and many others were taking snapshots as well.
"There were other people around, including walkers and cyclists, as well as staff at the chateau. The Duchess was sure to have known this, and perhaps should have been a bit more careful about displaying her body in such a prominent position." said Suau in a report.
