Presidential-election campaign ads may have reached their lowest point ever. An Indiana man recently had his face tattooed with Mitt Romney’s campaign logo for the price of $15,000.
In August, Eric Hartsburg posted an auction on eBay that would allow the winning bidder to tattoo whatever he or she wanted on a 5-by-2 inch space on Hartsburg’s face. The winner, a Republican who wishes to remain anonymous, paid $15,000 for Hartsburg to tattoo Mitt Romney’s “R” logo on his face.
Facebook Eric Hartsburg of Indiana recently had Mitt Romney's "R" campaign logo tattooed on his face after receiving $15,000 via an online auction.
While Hartsburg would have tattooed anything on the space, he is in fact a Romney supporter, according to ABC News.
“I am a registered Republican and a Romney supporter,” Hartsburg told ABC News. “I didn’t mind getting this tattoo because it is something that I could live with and it’s something that I believe in.”
Although the tattoo was initially a joke, he now finds some real meaning in it, hoping that the face tattoo will inspire young people to vote for Romney.
“In the beginning, it was done for gags and publicity, but now I see it as a way to encourage young people to vote,” Hartsburg said.

“We have so many rights that we don’t utilize and young people need to exercise that right. I want young people to know that it’s OK to be young, and it’s OK to be a Republican,” Hartsburg said. “You don’t have to be rich or elderly to be labeled as a Republican, and I want everyone to know that.”
So what does a 30-year-old man with a Romney face tattoo do for a living? Work as a professional wrestler, of course. While Hartsburg plans to continue getting tattooed for cash, he also earns money in the squared circle as “The International Wrestling Superstar” Erico.
And, yes, Hartsburg does have a separate tattoo dedicated to his professional wrestler persona.
