Tony Scott’s August death was officially ruled a suicide last night by the Los Angeles County Coroner, according to the Los Angeles Times. It ruled the cause of his death as multiple blunt force injuries and drowning.

The autopsy summary, however, showed no signs of cancer in his body.

The director of critically acclaimed movies like "Top Gun," "Crimson Tide," and "Man on Fire," Scott was 68-years-old when he mysteriously jumped off of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles. Several anonymous reports claim the Top Gun director had a brain tumor, though his family adamantly denies those rumors.

"There was no evidence of neoplasia -- cancer -- identified,” chief coroner investigator Craig Harvey told the Times.

According to the coroner’s report, only therapeutic levels of the sleep aid Lunestra and the anti-depressant Mirtazipine were present in Scott’s system. No pre-existing conditions were found.

Why Scott took his own life remains a mystery. Interviews done by the coroner’s office with Scott’s friends and family indicate that he only suffered from minor ailments -- like hip and back pain -- at the time of his death.

On Aug. 19, Scott parked his Toyota Prius -- with its caution lights on -- in the slow lane of the bridge before proceeding to scale an 18-foot barrier fence.

Once at the top, a witness said Scott sat to survey the situation before leaping from the massive suspension bridge, according to the New York Daily News.

In his car, notes were found, but authorities said they shed no light on the motive for his suicide.
