Karan Johar's latest romantic comedy film "Student of the Year" began with good collections at the box office but did not affect business of old releases like "OMG Oh My God!" and "English Vinglish".

Though the Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar starrer "OMG Oh My God!" opened with a dull start, it picked later and is presently ruling the box office. The satirical-comedy is in its third week and raked in ₹13 crore at the domestic BO, taking the overall collection to approximately ₹73 crore.

Sridevi's comeback film "English Vinglish" is rock steady and collected approximately ₹11.4 crore in its second week, taking the overall collections to around ₹32.4 crore.

"OMG Oh My God!" and "English Vinglish" are earning the most collections beating six new releases like "Aiyyaa", "Bhoot Returns", "Makkhi", "Chittagong", "Login" and "In The Name Of Tai". All the six movies opened to poor responses and failed at both domestic and overseas market.

"OMG Oh My God!" requires only ₹27 crore to cross the ₹100 mark, but its fourth week business might get affected because of "Student of the Year".

The movie starring newcomers Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt opened with positive reviews and is attracting audiences towards it. "SOTY" collected approx ₹9.25 crore on day one of its release.

The movie also showed growth in collections on Saturday. Despite the Navratri festival, it has seen 15 per cent increase over Friday's numbers, said trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
