A bomb threat called into Texas State University Thursday morning led to an evacuation of the San Marcos campus and at least one nearby business.
The bomb threat shuttered Texas State University for nearly two hours as a bomb squad from Austin was dispatched to the college. No bombs were found on the San Marcos campus, the paper reported.
Texas State informed students about the bomb threat through its Twitter account and text alerts.
“Bomb threat at Admissions bldg. Avoid area around bldg. Admissions occupants go to safe area,” read one text sent by the university.
The evacuation was set into motion when a Texas State admissions counselor received an email with the bomb threat around 7:20 a.m. local time. She informed her supervisors, who in turn called police, the American-Statesman reported. The threat specifically targeted the admissions office.

No suspects have been apprehended for making the bomb threat, Texas State University spokesman Jayme Blaschke told the paper. University officials and police would not cite a motive.
The school was evacuated for nearly two hours, when relieved students received the following message via Twitter:
“TXState Alert - EMERGENCY ENDED... All halls and building are open except Admissions. All classes will be held as normal.”
The evacuation included San Jacinto and Tower halls, two dorms at Texas State, due to their proximity to the admissions building.
A small business near the admissions building, Gumby’s Pizza, was also cleared out as authorities investigated the bomb threat, according to the American-Statesman.
