NBC plans to gut its comedy programming by ditching “30 Rock,” “Community” and “The Office” by next season, but the network has already nixed their new comedy venture “Animal Hospital,” claims the Hollywood Reporter.

"Animal Practice" has been canceled in its first season by NBC.
The 8 p.m. Wednesday night slot on NBC that formerly belonged to the Justin Kirk (“Weeds”) and monkey starring series will go to “Whitney” after the Whitney Cummings show was shelved. The Hollywood Reporter claims that the show’s cancelation came after consecutive low rating from the program.
Along with low ratings, the show has also seen a poor critical response, with a rating of 48 out of 100 on Metacritic. “The show is pretty darn terrible, derivative and tired,” reads a blunt review by Mary McNamara of the Los Angeles Times.

Fans of the soon to be axed series can still watch it in the normal timeslot on Wednesdays, at 8 pm until Nov. 7 when the final broadcasted episode will air. While Cummings’ Friday comedy will be moving to the middle of the week on Nov. 14, the cult followed “Community” still doesn’t have a definite return date.
It won’t be long after that NBC will bid farewell to long-running Thursday night hit “30 Rock” after the Tina Fey sitcom’s abbreviated final season ends. “Community” is also due to being airing its final abbreviated season on an undisclosed date in the future.
The network has renewed several other new shows that begin this season, like “Revolution,” “Go On” and “The New Normal.”
