A woman and her four children who went missing from Llanelli in South Wales have been found safe and well in the neighbouring county of Gwent, police have confirmed.

Dyfed Powys Police said they were working with the family and relevant authorities to ensure their ongoing safety.

Jennifer Jones, 46, and her four children, Jessica 14, Tomas, 12, Eva, nine, and David Palacin Jones, eight ,were found  after a high court judge ordered a nationwide hunt after she failed to return the children to their father in Spain.

Justice Roderic Wood said he was very concerned about the welfare of the children, adding they "must be found".

A second high court judge, Justice Hedley, declared that Jones had abducted her children from Spain. Wood said it was the second time Jones had attempted to take the four children. The last incident was in 2009.

The alarm was raised when police went to take the children into care at their home in Llanelli but could not find them.

Jones is in the middle of a legal dispute with her estranged husband, Tomas Palacin Cambra, 52.

Jones had been ordered to return the children to Spain by midnight on 12 October. She was then ordered to attend a high court hearing in London on 15 October but failed to attend.
