There's a new fight brewing fresh from Birmingham. The boys of One Direction allegedly insulted the bassist of the famous rock band, Wolfgang Van Halen, Van Halen. It's an all new fight between pop stars and rock stars. So what went down at Birmingham that got Van Halen's knickers in a twist?
One Direction may be the most popular boy band but that doesn't mean everybody has fallen for them. Being British boys in the pop music business, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik sure won't be likely to get along rock stars which is exactly what had happened at Birmingham.
According to Van Halen's latest tweets, the British cuties were rude and had even insulted him at the lobby of a British Hotel. For those who don't know, Van Halen is the son of legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen. Halen is now the bassist of the popular rock band, Wolfgang Van Halen.
"Fun fact: Was just insulted by that s--y boy band #OneDirection in the lobby of our hotel this morning! Greetings Birmingham!" tweeted Halen. This was then followed up by two more tweets.
"No joke. That ACTUALLY happened. That group of kids in #OneDirection were d-heads to @iierockii @gwdrums and I," said Halen's second tweet which was followed up by an insult to the boys' hair styles, saying, "They must call themselves that because all of their hair points in #OneDirection."
It would be obvious then that Van Halen is no "Directioner." Surely, the boys would have something to say to that but so far Niall, Liam, Harry, Zayn nor Louis have sent any replies to Halen's insults and tweets on the social networking site.
Hopefully, this doesn't escalate to fans of both sides waging war on Twitter. If it does escalate then this wouldn't be the first time "Directioners" have been especially overprotective over the boys. Back a few weeks ago, fans of the boys waged war on Justin Bieber fans simply over the issue of the Canadian crooner ripping off lyrics from One Direction's hit song, "What Makes You Beautiful."
