Is Tom Cruise Giving Up Scientology To Win Back Katie Holmes? [PHOTOS]
Coping from his recent divorce, Tom Cruise has been reported to be spending more time with friends that do not belong with the Scientology group.
Star Magazine said that Tom has kept distance from fellow scientologists and are very much "leaning on friends, who have different perspectives and getting advice on moving on after his divorce from Katie Holmes."
According to Inquisitr.com, "he's finally seeing that being such an advocate for Scientology hasn't served him as well as he'd hoped. He's gone through three divorces and his public perception has sunk to an all-time low. Now he's lost the most precious thing in his life, he sees that his Scientology beliefs may not have hurt his box office but have ended not one but two marriages," the source went on saying.
Last June, Katie Holmes has stunned Tom Cruise after giving him the divorce papers. It is believed that the "Dawson's Creek" actress left Tom Cruise because of his devotion to Scientology which Katie Holmes was strongly against especially on how to raise their daughter Suri.
"It was a terrifying and rude awakening for Tom when Katie served him with divorce papers. He's used to feeling undefeatable and untouchable. When he lost Katie he felt a failure," another source revealed to People magazine.
In 1990, Tom Cruise was first exposed to the Church of Scientology through actress Mimi Rogers, his first wife. Since then, the actor has stayed and became committed to the religion's affairs and practices.

Cruise and Shields had a public feud after Cruise criticized Shields for taking antidepressants to combat postpartum depression. Shields penned an op-ed for the New York Times and took Cruise to task. Shields later told Jay Leno that Cruise apologized to her in person at her home, People reported. "It is true that his friendship with Ms. Shields has been mended,” a rep for Cruise said in a statement to the Associated Press, according to a People report. “He has not changed his position about antidepressants, which, as evidenced by the black label warnings issued by the FDA on these types of drugs, are unhealthy."
