After a tiff with Levi’s for its racy ad content, conservative media personality Glenn Beck turned fashion designer and denim enthusiast unveiled his new line of jeans this week.

Jeans for his clothing company 1791 went on sale on Monday available in two cuts, classic and straight, with a price tag of $129.999 per pair. According to Beck, what sets his jeans apart from the rest is their origin, which he boasts as made solely in America with “the exact fabric that the miners used to use in the 1800s.”

"100% made in America," Beck said, “Each pair of jeans has been painstakingly constructed by America's most skilled denim craftsmen to create an honest pair of jeans.”

To announce 1791 denim, the company released a video where a narrator says, “These were the first American blue jeans. The jeans that built America. And they were built in America.”

Back in July, Beck said his company approached a North Carolina mill which produced fabric for Levi’s in the 1800s and then found a factory in Kentucky to make the denim jeans.

“It has copper rivets, it has the button fly, it has the exact fabric that, if you’re my age, you grew up with. The exact fabric that the miners used to use in the 1800s.”

Beck first announced last year that he was boycotting Levi’s jeans after an ad campaign which circulated was intended to glorify “revolution.” He first started his company after leaving Fox in 2011 and founded 1791, which signifies the year the Bill of Rights was ratified. According to Beck, his new line of jeans will “reclaim the lost art of making quality American clothing” which was lost with American brands like Levis.
