For almost an entire year, CM Punk has been the WWE champion. After having one of the longest title reigns in WWE history, the wrestler may be looking to conquer the comic book world.

In a recent interview, Punk admitted that he has been in talks about writing his own series.

"We've kicked around a couple of ideas,” Punk told USA Today. “You might see something like that in the future."

The WWE superstar discussed his passion for comic books, after it was announced that he would write the introduction for Marvel Comics’ “Avengers vs. X-Men” hardcover collection. The issue will be made available on Nov. 7.

Punk has been a fan of comics since he was younger, and has spoken at multiple comic book conventions. While he is an avid reader of the genre, he never expected to have the opportunity to create his own.

"It was nothing I ever really thought about until they approached me. It was very matter-of-factly like, 'Hey, you should write a comic book.' It was pretty cool."

Punk wouldn’t release any more specific details about a potential comic of his own, but he did give a hint as to what fans can expect from his intro for “Avengers vs. X-Men.”

"If I had to describe my writing style, it's very sarcastic and self-deprecating," he says. "You'll be able to tell it in the foreword."

The WWE champion is only 33 years old, but he has often hinted that he won’t be in the wrestling business for much longer. At a recent comic book convention in Ohio, Punk was asked when he would call it quits.

“Way soon than you think,” he responded.

Along with John Cena, Punk has been the main attraction on “Monday Night Raw” in 2012. He is set to appear in the main event at the ‘Hell in a Cell” Pay-Per View on Oct. 28.
