After weeks of auditions and boot camp, “The X Factor” has finally has whittled down its talent pool to 24 contestants, but who makes it to the final 16? Just a fair warning: There are spoilers ahead courtesy of Examiner and Astrochicks.
Britney Spears stars as a celebrity judge on this season of 'The X Factor' and the star's no-nonsense approach is extending backstage as well. Spears's team is reportedly banning booze backstage and in the star's hotel room.
Demi Lovato was awarded the group that she wanted to work with, the Young Adults. According to both of the websites, the “unlikable” CeCe Fry, Jennel Garcia, Willie Jones and Paige Thomas are all advancing to the next level.
Garcia and Paige have awesome voices and will probably be each other’s strongest competition. If Fry can get past painting leopard spots on her face and somehow get America to like her, she might have a chance in advancing in the competition because even if people don’t like her personality, no one can deny that the girl has talent. Willie Jones’ mix of R&B and country helps him stand out from the crowd, and he seemed to really impress Demi Lovato in the boot camp.
Sadly, bullying victim Jillian Jensen didn’t make the cut after Wednesday night’s performance failed to impress the judges, but there’s always next year.
Simon Cowell was afforded the “Groups” category, with both websites having Emblem3, Lyric145 and Lylas proceeding to the next round.
There is some dispute over the next band to advance. The Examiner says Dope Crisis moves on while Astrochicks says it will be Playback.
L.A. Reid made it known that he was upset with getting “stuck” with the Over 25 category after he was filmed slamming the phone and even told the contestants that he was disappointed.
It’s baffling that Jeffrey Adam Gutt didn’t make the cut, and even more surprising that Tara Simon did make the final 24. The 27-year-old can barely sing, so it’s a good thing that the Examiner and Astrochicks both reported she didn’t make it to the next round. The websites have Vino Alan, Jason Brock, David Correy and Tate Stevens moving on to the final 16.
Britney Spears’ Teen group has much more talent with Beatrice Miller, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Diamond White being contestants in the final 16, which seems fair based on their stellar boot camp performances.
Astrochicks has Arin Ray being the last contestant while the Examiner has it as Arin Ray or James Tanner.
