Christina Hendricks may be best known for her curves which have immortalized her role as Joan on AMC’s “Mad Men,” but don’t dare call her “full-figured.”

In a recent interview with Australia’s Sun Herald, Fashion Editor Kate Waterhouse called Hendricks “full-figured” and hit a nerve with the actress, who then shut down all questions.

"I think calling me full-figured is just rude," Hendricks said in response.

In the interview video, Waterhouse asks Hendricks, "You have been an inspiration as a full-figured woman, what is the most inspiring story that you can remember?"

A frazzled Hendricks responded, "Um, I don't know…I'm sorry,” and looked over presumably at her publicist, who asked Waterhouse to rephrase the question.

"You've been known as an inspiration for women as being a full-figure..." Waterhouse began, interrupted by Hendricks who commented, "I mean, you just said it again."

A voice off-screen said, “She’s asked all of the time.”

According to the Sun-Herald, Hendricks said off-camera, "I think calling me full-figured is just rude."

But Health.com didn’t get such a bad response when it asked Hendricks about women admiring her body type, since the actress is listed in Wikipedia as "a role model for full-figured women.”

"It's such a compliment, because of all those times I had agents who were, like, 'You have to lose some weight,' and all of a sudden, people are celebrating it. It's like: 'Oh, thank you! Thank you for letting me be me,’” she told Helath.com.

Hendricks was in Australia for the Specsavers 2012 Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition.
