Recently divorced and still on the heart-mending mode, Katie Holmes has been reported to establish a new dating rule if ever she gets back to the dating scene: No more dating guys way older than her, that is not more than 5 years older than her.

Entertainmentwise.com reported that Katie's friends revealed this new dating rule, which was one of the obvious setbacks of her marriage to 50-year-old Tom Cruise. Katie did not seemed to mind the 17-year age gap during the first year of their union. Nonetheless, the age gap may have weighed down on the 33-year-old later on.

According Entertainmentwise.com, friends of Katie Holmes said the actress is beginning to establish some rules about who she would want to date next when the time comes. Katie Holmes also told her friends that from now on, she only wants to date men, who are of her same age.

"Don't even think about introducing me to any man more than five years older than I am!" Katie Holmes exclaimed according to a source. "Next time, I want someone more my own age," Katie Holmes reportedly added.

Meanwhile, Katie Holmes has not started dating again yet but the actress and fashion designer reportedly reached out to her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Jackson, whom she fondly described as her first love.

"I feel so fortunate because he's now one of my best friends. It's weird and it's almost like a Dawson-and-Joey type thing now," Holmes shared.

Talk about having a blast from the past. However, the 34-year-old Joshua Jackson has been dating the 36-year-old beautiful German actress Diane Kruger since 2006. If Joshua Jackson is currently single, there might be a possibility that he and Katie could give their relationship another try.
