Spain is ready to request a bailout from the European Central Bank to alleviate its sovereign debt crisis, but German officials want the country to focus on reforms and avoid requesting aid, Reuters reported

Spain is ready to request aid as early as next weekend, four unnamed European sources told Reuters. German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble previously said Spain can overcome its financial problems with reforms, but a government spokesman told Reuters, "Germany isn't pushing in one direction or the other."
