Coming off their first win of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs face the San Diego Chargers Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium.
The game begins at 1pm eastern time and will be shown by CBS, or watch a live stream online by purchasing NFL Sunday Ticket Max.
Running back Jamaal Charles singlehandedly carried the Chiefs offense in their 27-24 overtime win over the New Orleans Saints in Week Three. Charles tore up the Saints for 233 rushing yards, with a 91-yard touchdown included.
Kansas City was still down 24-13 after Charles' prolific run, but the defense held New Orleans scoreless in the fourth quarter and forced a safety with 5:33 remaining.
Matt Cassel led the Chiefs to three field goal drives to force overtime, and kicker Ryan Succop punched in a 31-yard attempt for the victory. Cassel went 26-for-44 for 248 yards and an interception.
San Diego did not fare nearly as well as the Chiefs in Week Three.
The Chargers strong start to the season was spoiled with a 27-3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, who picked off quarterback Philip Rivers twice and forced two fumbles in a dominating performance.
San Diego’s offense was non-existent and only held possession for 23:46 minutes. Rivers went 21-for-38 for 173 yards and a 45.2 rating, and receiver Malcom Floyd had three receptions for 52 yards.
Making his return from a broken collar bone, running back Ryan Matthews had 10 carries for a team-high 44 yards, but also lost a fumble on the Atlanta four yard line in the second quarter and the Chargers never recovered.
A positive for the Chargers is their fourth best rushing defense, which allows only 67.3 yards on the ground, and could neutralize the Chiefs' main weapon in Charles.
Betting Odds: San Diego is favored by 1 point; Over/Under: 45 points
Prediction: Despite their atrocious play in Week Three, the Chargers should return to winning form. Rivers will have a much easier time against a banged up Chiefs' secondary, and Matthews should have his legs back in his second game of the season.
Predicted Score: San Diego 21, Kansas City 17
