- Ms Meagher, wife of Tom Meagher, was last seen alive on Friday last week (Sept. 21). She was with friends in Bar Etiquette in Brunswick. She reportedly refused offers from friends to walk her home, which is only five minutes from the bar.

The footage, time stamped around 1:40 a.m., shows an unidentified man approaching Ms Meagher outside the shop. (Watch the CCTV footage here or play the video below.)
- Police arrested Bayley in Coburg. He was initially uncooperative. But after several hours in custody, Coburg gave police the needed information to find Ms Meagher's body.
- Australian news website theaustralian.com.au describes the crime as "a genuinely random, opportunistic attack."
