Singer Adele Slammed Madonna and Lady GaGa [PHOTOS]
Grammy-winning singer Adele has reportedly criticized fellow female music artists Lady GaGa and Madonna for using their sexuality in order to sell their record albums.
The "Someone Like You" singer, whose weight has always been talked about, claimed that her career was all about the music and not her body. Adele has also insisted that even if she had a body like a supermodel, she would definitely keep her clothes on.
According to reports, the 24-year old British singer said that Lady GaGa and Madonna does not even look how they do in magazine pictures or videos when they strip down to their underwear in their music videos.
"I have seen them up close. They don't even look like that. Exploiting yourself sexually is not a good look. I don't find it encouraging," Adele said.
"I have never seen magazine covers and music videos and thought: 'I need to look like that to be a success'" the talented singer added. "To sell more records I don't even need to do that. I just stand there and sing. No matter what you look like, the key is to be happy with yourself," Adele further stated.
Meanwhile, Adele has also insisted that being a plus size does not bother her at all and the success of her music career was dependent on how or what she looked like. The Tottenham soul-singer's comments happen to be timely with the current widespread media attention that focuses on Lady GaGa's weight gain and the recently released stripped down pictures on the internet.
Adele and her boyfriend Simon Konecki are currently expecting their first child. However, the "21" singer is not taking a break from her music career after it has been confirmed that Adele will sing the official soundtrack for the upcoming James Bond film "Skyfall." A source close to the soon-to-be mother revealed that Adele's new album was inspired by her pregnancy which makes her upcoming records sound lighter compared to her previous heartbreaking hit songs.
