CRUDE OIL closed higher due to short covering on Friday as it consolidated some of last week's decline. The midrange close sets the stage for a steady opening when Monday's night session begins. Stochastics and the RSI are bearish signalling that additional weakness is possible nearterm. If it extends last week's decline, the 50% retracement level of the JuneSeptember rally crossing is the next downside target.
