Following the unexpected announcement of retirement of BioWare's founders Dr Ray Muzyka and Dr Greg Zeschuk from the game development, the general manager of BioWare Edmonton and Montreal, Aaryn Flynn, has paid homage to the two men who helped build a global community of fans and friends, besides informing discerning fans about BioWare's upcoming projects in the sci-fi adventure game franchise.
"Executive Producer Casey Hudson and his team are coming off an amazing eight-year run with the Mass Effect trilogy," writes Aaryn Flynn, general manager of BioWare Edmonton and Montreal. "But they're not done yet."
Flynn says that BioWare is working on more multiplayer content and single-player stories to be released in the next six months, including the Omega single-player DLC that's expected in the Fall.
"Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey and our teams have plans for another full game. Where to go next? with such a project has been a question a lot of us have been asking, and we'd all love to hear your ideas," adds Flynn on the BioWare blog, revealing plans of the new full game in the critically acclaimed Mass Effect (ME) series.
Despite confirmation of a new full ME game in the works, it is still unclear if it will be titled as "Mass Effect 4 (ME4)" or if it follows a different timeline and storyline within the ME universe. If you are among those fans who hated the Mass Effect 3 ending, chances are you may not be interested in the new full ME game.
Those who found some respite with the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut endings and then the latest Leviathan DLC, would love to explore Commander Shepard's latest adventure with the Omega DLC.
"Omega" DLC was unveiled for attendees of Comic Con Montreal three days ago. The image reveals Commander Shepard alongside a red structure that resembles a Collector ship.
As Gamenguide notes, a dialogue piece found in the original game code seems to be linked to the upcoming Omega DLC. Aria T'Loak is likely to make a comeback in this new add-on, while Omega is touted to be the haven for criminals, terrorists and people concocting plans to break away from the law. Aria has been the catalyst controlling the rival gangs in the original Mass Effect 3, while the new DLC is likely to focus on warring factions and Cerberus battling it out for supremacy.
