According to early estimates, "Heroine" has collected Rs 85 to 90 millions on the first day at domestic BO.
The movie has an average occupancy of about 60 percent from across India. It was released at 2,000 screens as compared to "Barfi", which was released only in 700 screens.
The movie performed better in multiplexes at some places, while the single screens did better in mass-dominated centers. The evening and night shows were much better than the day shows.
"The collections were towards the lower side in urban areas. If we look at single screen theaters Bengal and Sounth India were the only ones to have done somewhat well," Koimoi.com reported. Bhandarkar's film has done good business in the mass belts and Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, UP, and Bengal, according to the website.

"#Heroine takes UAE by storm, collects $ 140,000 on Thursday. 19 screens yet to report. One of the best starts there!" Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Since it has been released in around 2000 screens India, it is expected to collect decent figures during the weekend than the opening day.
