President Barack Obama will spend Thursday in the Sunshine State, as he and Republican challenger Mitt Romney continue to duke it out for the battleground state with less than 50 days before the general election.

Obama will have stops in Tampa and Miami, according to his published schedule, where he is expected to focus his discussions on education and the future of the Hispanic community. In Miami, Obama will participate in a Univision News/Facebook “Meet the Candidate” interview at the University of Miami, before attending a fundraiser at a private residence in Tampa.

The president will return to the White House on Thursday.

In other top-profile campaigns, Massachusetts’ Republican Sen. Scott Brown will square off against his Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren in what will be their first televised debate, and first face-to-face meeting. The Massachusetts race – possibly the highest=profile Senate race in the nation – pits Warren, who helped establish the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, against the popular Brown for the seat once held by Ted Kennedy.
