Some visually entertaining videos don't get old. Take the "Mentos plus Coke Diet" video clip from the MythBusters, as an example. It was uploaded in 2008 and has so far gathered 7 million views, but it still gets fresh visits and comments from YouTube users.
YouTube YouTube Experiment: Mentos plus Coke... and a condom?
So (almost) everybody knows what happens when Mentos is dropped into a bottle of cola. What happens if you add a condom to the equation?
There is a relatively old YouTube video that is making fresh rounds on the Internet after being featured Thursday on Flipboard, a mobile news curation app. The clip shows an Italian man conducting an experiment with a regular big bottle of Coca-Cola, eight Mentos candies, and a Durex condom.
The Italian who calls himself "milleaccendini" on YouTube speaks in his natural language. But you do not have to speak Italian to understand what he is doing.
He starts by tearing open a Durex packet and moves quickly into dropping the candies into the unfurled condom. With a sealant tape, he secures the open end of the condom onto the mouth of the cola bottle, while blocking the Mentos candies from accidentally dropping into the bottle. Once the tape is secure, he then simultaneously drops the candies in the now tape-sealed bottle-and-condom container. As expected, a blast of chemical reaction erupted. It soon appeared to look like an elasticity test for the condom.
The clip drew mixed reactions from commenters. While most comments are non-English, the universal laughter is expressed in LOLs and "Ha-Ha-Has." Other comments critcized the clip for not having a point.
