Businessman Donald Trump is blaming Kate Middleton for the nude scandal in which Closer weekly magazine published topless photos of the Duchess.
“Kate Middleton is great - but she shouldn't be sunbathing in the nude - only herself to blame,” he tweeted.
"OH MY GOD!", the cover of French publication 'Closer' stated earlier this month of the "world exclusive," on top of a montage of uncensored pictures of Middleton, says the Huffington Post
The Duchess of Cambridge was sun tanning with her husband, Prince William, apparently on their honeymoon in the South of France, when the pictures were snapped.
Trump continued to voice his opinion on the social media website, writing, “Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!”
But he did not stop there. He went on Fox and Friends as well, commenting on the controversy, saying “While we're all fans of Kate, can you imagine why she would ever be out in the nude?”
The managing editor of 'Closer' weekly magazine, Laurence Pieau, has defended her decision to publish topless photos of Middleton.
"I'm surprised by the pandemonium provoked by the publication of these photographs in London where the British press has issued insults and threats towards me," she said.
Since the pictures were released, Middleton and Prince William sued the French publication hand blocked further publication of ‘highly intimate’ topless photographs, according to the Daily Mail
. The photographs cannot be sold by Closer to anyone else in the world, and they will get a 10,000 euro daily fine each time they sell them on or publish them.
NBC affiliate station WPTV-TV said that a St. James's Palace spokesman said Kate Middleton and Prince William were "hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner.
