The English version of "Closer" magazine on Monday announced that it will never publish the private photos of Kate Middleton, distancing itself from the French edition.

The UK-based women's entertainment magazine clarified that though the UK and French versions share the same name, the command over the editorial decisions are different.
Earlier, the French version also clarified this in an editorial piece on its official website saying, "The English edition is not concerned with publishing Kate's semi-nude photos. It also justified printing topless pictures of Kate in its publications by saying that "the photos they selected were by no means degrading. They show a young couple on vacation, beautiful, love, modern in their normal life."
But Price William has defined the act as a "grotesque and totally unjustified invasion of their privacy."
Here's a message from the editor of the Britain-based Closer:
"The publication of pictures of Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge topless has understandably caused outrage around the world."
As a magazine, we feel these pictures are intrusive and an invasion of the Duchess' privacy and are appalled that they were published. We would like to reassure our loyal readers that we have not and would never publish these pictures.
"We would also like to make it clear that although it shares the Closer name, Closer France is run by a separate company to Closer in the UK and makes completely separate editorial decisions to the UK magazine."
