Operating System - One of the main difference between the two is its mobile software, the Nokia Lumia 920 is run by the latest Windows Phone 8. The HTC One XL is supported by Google's Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is upgradable to Jelly Bean.
Processor - The two devices are both powered by 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset.

Battery Life - HTC One XL has 1800 mAh battery, which is a little less compared to Nokia Lumia 920's 2000 mAh battery. Moreover, the device has built in apparatus to support wireless charging.
Based from the aforementioned features, if you want to experience the perks of Android, choose HTC. However, if you are one of the people curious with the performance and capabilities of Windows Phone 8, choose Nokia Lumia 920. Reports claimed that Nokia Lumia 920 will be released on October 21; while HTC One XL is already available in major carriers.
