There is a lot of controversy brewing after a coaches' handshake on Sunday, and it wasn't between Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz.
Tom Coughlin didn't appreciate the way the Buccaneers finished their 41-34 loss to the Giants on Sunday, and he let Greg Schiano know about it. New York's head coach scolded Tampa Bay's first-year head man when the contest ended.
The Giants are 1-1 with their victory over the Buccaneers.
Josh Freeman threw an interception that effectively ended the Buccaneers chances of winning the game. With Eli Manning set to take a knee and walk off with the win, Tampa Bay defenders knocked down the quarterback on the final play.
When Coughlin and Schiano got together for their postgame handshake, he told the Bucs coach that he shouldn't have let that happen.
"I don't think you do that," said Coughlin. "You don't do that in this league. Not only that, you jeopardize the offensive line, you jeopardize the quarterback. Thank goodness we didn't get anybody hurt."
Schiano is in his first year in the NFL, after coaching Rutgers from 2001-2011. Despite Coughlin's reaction, he didn't feel that his team did anything wrong.
"I don't know if that's not something that's done in the National Football League,'' said Schiano. "What I do with our football team is that we fight until they tell us, 'game over.' And there's nothing dirty about it, there's nothing illegal about it."
