Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger" rallies strong at the box office, with the movie continuing to be the first preference of movie goers in spite of other new releases. Meanwhile, the film is all set to breach the ₹2 billion collection record of Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots" in the coming days.
The fourth weekend collections of the Kabir Khan-directed movie has touched ₹1.974 billion and the film is touted to be an 'all-time blockbuster'.
According to Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, "Ek Tha Tiger" collected Rs ₹4.2 million on Friday, the collection jumped further on Saturday with ₹7.7 million at the box office window. The film racked up ₹112 million on Sunday, taking the total collection toll of the film to ₹1.974 billion in less than a month after its release.
Meanwhile, Vikram Bhatt's "Raaz 3", which was realised last week, is also recording significant business despite mixed response from the critics.
"Raaz 3" is said to be the biggest opening for actors Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu to date as the movie racked up ₹360.2 million on the opening weekend, surpassing other collection records of previous films from the Bhatt camp.
"The film fared exceptionally well at single screens and reported excellent footfalls at multiplexes too. The opening weekend business of the film is almost at par with the Week 1 business of 'Murder 2' (36.5 cr nett) and bigger than 'Jannat' 2 (35.55 cr nett)," wrote Adarsh for Bollywood Hungama.
According to Adarsh, "Raaz 3" collected ₹5.8 million on its Thursday preview, and the collection took a leap with ₹104.7 million on Friday. The bullish trend continued on Satuerday with ₹111.8 million collections in its kitty and on Sunday it racked up ₹137.9 million.
Adarsh refrained from giving the collection figures of Shirish Kunder's "Joker", describing it as a "flop". The film started off on a weak note and the first weekend collection figures fell between ₹155 million and ₹155.7 million.
Co-produced and acted by Akshay Kumar, "Joker", put the actor back on the flop list after his back-to-back hits - "Houseful 2" and "Rowdy Rathore".
