Tom Brokaw was rushed to a hospital on Thursday morning, after two days of nearly nonstop coverage of the Democratic National Convention.

The NBC (Nasdaq: CMCSA) news legend, who had just appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," was taken by ambulance to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., the Atlantic Wire reported. The famed news anchor reportedly said he felt "light-headed" on the set of the program.

"Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital. He is being evaluated and is in good spirits," an NBC spokesperson said in a statement.

At 72, Brokaw had been "seemingly everywhere" during this week's DNC, according to the Huffington Post. The event kicked off on Tuesday and ends on Thursday, and many news outlets have been working overtime covering the event. On Wednesday, Brokaw had appeared on an early-evening taping of Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show" in addition to appearing on Fox News's "Hannity." He had apparently been up early before his appearance on "Morning Joe."

Tom Brokaw had been anchor of "NBC Nightly News" since 1982, but he stepped down in 2004. He now serves a special correspondent for the network.    

So far, there is no word on when Brokaw will be released and return to work.
