The pictures from the first official photo shoot of "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's baby son Lorenzo Dominic will appear in the new issue of People magazine this week.

But the first photo -- which shows Lorenzo Dominic in Snooki's arms with his eyes closed -- has hit the Web as the front cover has been released ahead of the issue's release.

Just click this link to see the cuteness for yourself, and maybe you'll be able to figure out why they couldn't find a better picture of Lorenzo Dominic -- at least one in which his eyes are open -- for the cover of the popular magazine.

Despite the fact that little Lorenzo looks like he is taking a nap right there in his mother's arms, the photo is pretty precious, with Dominic in all white except for his shoes, which appear to be bedazzled in the red-white-and-green shape of Italy's flag.

The mag will also include a range of other photos from the shoot, and includes interviews with Snooki, 24, and her fiance Jionni LaValle, 25, about everything from breastfeeding to the 24 hours People says Snooki spent in labor before eventually giving birth on Aug. 26.

Snooki opens up about a number of things in her interview, according to excerpts posted on the magazine's website:

"It's a different kind of love that I never felt before," Snooki, 24, tells the magazine of Lorenzo, who sports bedazzled Italian flag booties as he snoozes in the cover photo. 

LaValle was apparently the impetus behind naming the baby Lorenzo, he tells people in the interview:

"We were going back and forth, and I just happened to think of Lorenzo ... She loved it."

And Dominic is a tribute to an uncle of Snooki's who died , People reports.
