At the third-round U.S. Open women's doubles match, Serena Williams and her sister Venus Williams competed against Russians Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova. While most people were focused on the hard court in the Louis Armstrong Stadium, much attention was also given to Serena's ex-boyfriend Common, who came to cheer her on.

Common came to cheer Williams on during her 3rd round U.S. Open doubles match
As Common, 40, entered the stadium, he went straight to Williams' mother, Oracene Price, and her friends and family, and sat with them to watch the match. During the game, which ended in a loss for the sisters, 6-1, 6-4, as they failed to find their rhythm, Common clapped enthusiastically for Serena and Venus when they won set points.
After the game, Common warmly embraced Price before exiting Armstrong.
Common, who also acts and starred in the comedy "Date Night" with Steve Carell and "Just Wright" with Queen Latifah, dated Serena on and off for two years before splitting up in 2010. According to a source that spoke to In Touch Weekly, the pair "just grew apart."

Earlier this year, tennis champion Serena, who won Olympic gold this summer in London, told Celebuzz, "I have given up on dating. It just hasn't worked out well for me ... I just have to remove myself from that atmosphere for about the next decade or so."
"I'm a really emotional person. I give my all and everything. I do make mistakes -- like every human does -- but the last relationship just was too much of a heartbreak for me. I just can't go through that anymore. It was hard," the 30-year-old said. While Williams did not specify who her last relationship was with, it is believed that she was referring to the "Just Wright" star.
Judging by the support Common showed at the Monday night game, could the two be reconciling?
"I definitely want to get married," Common said in an interview with television host Ellen DeGeneres while he and Serena were together. "I would love to get married and have kids."
