British finance minister George Osborne said on Sunday that the country's recession-hit economy was healing, but that the government needed to do more to promote growth and do it more quickly.

He also told the BBC that a government-sponsored "small business bank" should be considered to boost lending, and that all options should be examined to increase airport capacity in the southeast of England.
