Preview: After holding their own against Manchester City last weekend, Brendan Rodgers' new-look Liverpool get another early test against Arsenal on Sunday. Following an ignominious 3-0 defeat to West Brom in their first Premier League outing, the signs were far more encouraging against the English champions. Only a late error saw Liverpool fail to emerge with the three points as City grabbed a late equalizer.

Having failed to bring anyone in on transfer deadline day, though, many Liverpool fans will be apprehensive about the season ahead. While Andy Carroll was allowed to leave on loan, an expected deal for Clint Dempsey never materialized leaving many to wonder where the goals are going to come from for Liverpool. Particularly after those exact struggles last season, Rodgers will be keen to see Luis Suarez and new-signing Fabio Borini firing in the goals.

Liverpool will be boosted on Sunday by what looks likely to be a debut for Nuri Sahin. The midfielder signed on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid and should add further creativity and composure in the center of the pitch.

Fans of Liverpool's opponents, Arsenal, also endured a frustrating last few hours of the transfer window. Despite the departures of Robin van Persie and Alex Song, manager Arsene Wenger failed to bring in the "special player" for which he claimed he was searching.

After two goalless draws to begin the Premier League season, the only way to appease the supporters is with performances and results on the field. Wenger will be desperate for the three players he has brought in--Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla--to quickly start producing the goods.

Arsenal should get their first goal of the season, but perhaps not their first win,
