Muhammad Ali Home Up For Auction Sept 8; Childhood Home Of Boxing Legend Gets Listed At $1.9 Million

It seems like Louisville real estate market is witnessing some prime action as the house of boxing legend Muhammad Ali goes up for auction Sept. 8.

Situated along a western Louisville neighborhood comprising modest homes, the five-bedroom, 41/2 house at 1121 Winding Dr., off Kresson Road is listed at $1.9 million at Trend, the region's Multiple Listing Service, Philly.com reported.

Apparently, Ali sold it for $175,000 to Anthony J.Micale, president, Micale Management Corp. of Cherry Hill and owner/ operator of 10 area McDonald's restaurants,Philly.com added.

The Associated Press has noted that current owner Steve Stephenson has actually sought $50,000 for the house, which hosts a historical marker that states it is the residence of Muhammad Ali, when he was growing up.

Ali, a three-time world heavyweight champion and social activist, has brought international tourist attention to the city of Louisville, which also hosts the Muhammad Ali Center.

Reportedly, the house has undergone several changes over last 38 years since Muhammad Ali sold it to include state-of-the-art kitchen, eating area and pool, tennis and volleyball/ shuffleboard courts apart from a garage, gazebo and playground.
