Fans will recall that Castle had once invited Beckett for a weekend escapade at his Hamptons property. She was initially reluctant, so Castle moved on rather quickly. Who could blame him? She was dating someone else at the time.
In Season 5, creator and executive producer Andrew Marlowe said the new couple will now be exploring crimes outside New York City.
"[Their romance] opens us up to brand-new territory... There are ways that are organic to get Castle and Beckett out of New York; they can go away for the weekend," Marlowe told TV Guide.

And the crime-solving twosome strike so much fear in one potential suspect, he dives off his boat and tries to swim to safety!" TV Line's Michael Ausiello reported.
Spoiler TV Asks the Fans: Castle or Once Upon a Time?
Spoiler TV, which reports the latest spoilers on TV's best shows, recently pitted Castle and Once upon a Time in a popularity contest. The website asked its readers to choose their favorite TV series to follow. The winner? Castle, with 54 per cent of the votes.
Needless to say, Castle is peaking in terms of viewer interest especially after the hot scenes of the Season 4 finale were aired in May.
A Spoiler TV commented on his choice, articulating other Castle fans may be thinking at this point in the series.
"Castle has gotten better and better each season, building strong characters and story arcs, and the epic love story done on Broadcast TV. They have banished the myth of the "Moonlighting Curse" by actually following through the natural story development of a complex relationship of grudgingly partners, to friends, to lovers," Castle fan Beckstle wrote.
