Chloe Sevigny is retreating from the bright lights of Hollywood and heading to "Portlandia." Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the stylish 37-year-old will be featured as a guest star during the show's upcoming third season. The actress will play Alexandria--Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein's new roommate. She'll join frequent guest star Kyle MacLauchlan, who plays the mayor of Portlandia.

Each half-hour episodes of "Portlandia" includes a collection of parody sketches that hilariously send up the artisanal, environmentally-friendly, uber laid back lifestyle associated with certain cities in the Pacific Northwest. Since its debut in 201, "Portlandia" has generated a cult following. The IFC original series is set and filmed in Portland, Oregon.

A number of high profile guest stars have been featured on the show, including Steve Buscemi, Jason Sudeikis, Gus Van Sant, Tim Robbins, and Kristen Wiig.

Sevingny has appeared in several notable films, including "Kids," "The Last Days of Disco," and "Boys Don't Cry," for which she earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She won a best supporting actress Golden Globe for her portrayal of the straight-talking Nicki Grant on HBO's polygamy drama "Big Love."

In addition to her upcoming "Portlandia" role, Sevingny will appear in "American Horror Story: Asylum." She'll star as Shelly the Nymphomaniac in the highly anticipated second season of the hit FX series.

The newest season of "Portlandia" is set to premiere Jan. 2013.
