In Hollywood, it is quite normal for lead actors to get a higher pay compared to his/her co-stars, especially if they are the main stars of the movie.
However, a sudden increase in the salary of the main actor will make the co-stars envious, thus resulting to a salary war. This goes the same for Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, stars of the Hunger Games, who want a higher cut compared to their last pay. Let the Hunger Games begin!
"Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are demanding more money to appear in Hunger Games sequel, reports Radar Online. They are jealous that Jennifer Lawrence is signed on to earn $10 million for Catching Fire, she made $500k for the first film. They are threatening to walk if the movie studio doesn't give them what they want," reports Ocean Up, regarding the salary increase that the two male stars of "The Hunger Games" franchise demands for the sequel coming November of 2013.
The two male actors learned that from $500,000 Jennifer Lawrence's got singed to do the sequel, "Catching Fire" for a whopping salary that's twenty times bigger then her original. And that's just for the second movie.
The two actors are not demanding as much as Jennifer's salary since they know that she does play a much bigger role in the movies, but they just want something bigger than what was offered.
"With the success of the first movie, they feel that $5 million is a more suitable fee and are haggling with the studio before dotting the i's and crossing the t's on their deals. And they have even said they may not return for the sequel, which they hope will be a bargaining chip for a bigger pay packet.'Continues Ocean Up.
Before he was known as PeetaMellark from "The Hunger Games", Josh Hutchersonis known for his role in "Little Manhattan" and "Bridge to Terabithia". Liam Hemsworth, who plays Gale Hawthorne in the franchise, first acted in Australian TV before getting the role of the leading man in "The Last Song" opposite Miley Cyrus, who is now his fiancée.
Hopefully, the producers will not let money get in the way of the franchise, and will let the sequel smoothly run its course.
