Misty May-Treanor, one half of the U.S. Olympic beach volleyball team, has many accolades to her credit. The recipient of gold medals at both the Athens and Beijing Olympics, as well as countless AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) volleyball awards for Best Defensive Player, as well as Best Offensive Player (not to mention Most Valuable Player), May-Treanor is seeking more Olympic gold in London with her partner, Kerri Walsh-Jennings.

After the Beijing Olympics, May-Treanor and Walsh-Jennings saw their 112 win streak come to a close against fellow Olympians Nicole Branagh and Elaine Youngs. This was at the AVP Shootout in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was seen as a huge upset by fans of the sport.

May-Treanor's appearance on "Dancing With The Stars" was hampered by a rupture in her Achilles tendon, though it would heal, she would miss a year of competitive play. May-Treanor is now suffering from a slight tremor in her right hand, according to CBS News; however, this hasn't deterred her in her quest for gold. "It's hard to paint my nails nicely. I was going to paint them red, white and blue, but I didn't know what to do with the white. So I went with gold."

The Olympic duo is still eyeing a third gold medal, even with May-Treanor's apparent hand injury. She hasn't informed her doctor of the situation, either, according to the Huffington Post. She discovered her hand was trembling while trying to help a friend apply makeup in London.
