Australian Actor Chris Hemsworth Suffers Homesickness [PHOTOS]
For an Australian actor named Chris Hemsworth who has finally made a big name for himself in Hollywood, what exactly is there for him to worry about? Apparently, it is losing touch with his home.
"The Avengers" actor Chris Hemsworth revealed that he is actually homesick for Australia. This concern has driven the hunk actor to head back home Down Under for work after being away for five years. The 28-year old Australian actor is currently Foxtel's new ambassador and it was a role that was previously handled by fellow Australian actor Hugh Jackman.
Hemsworth has already spent some time last week as he filmed the network's commercial in Sydney."I haven't done anything back here since Home and Away," Hemsworth told The Sunday Telegraph.
"It is a good opportunity to do something back here," he said of the Foxtel job.
Hemsworth left the soap opera last July 2007 after being cast for big films like "The Avengers" and "Snow White and The Huntsman." Because of that, Hemsworth felt like he was doing things that are outside of Australia.
"I was sort of losing touch with where I'm from," the actor revealed.
Despite his success and very hectic work schedule, Hemsworth still gets the chance of seeing his parents with a brief visit in Sydney. His wife, Elsa Pataky, and their baby daughter named India Rose are staying in London. Meanwhile, the "Thor" actor is planning another trip home later this year in order to properly introduce his daughter with her Australian roots.
"It was too hard to bring her back," Hemsworth said. "I think we'll bring her back at Christmas time," he added.
Chris Hemsworth still has a lot of work to be done overseas. Lining up are the movie sequels to "Thor" and "The Avengers." There has also been claims made about a possible sequel to the "Snow White and The Huntsman" film but Hemsworth revealed that no green light has been given yet. Nevertheless, the actor said that he is really looking forward to making an Australian movie.
"I would love to come back and shoot a film here," the actor shared. Even though he has already established himself as one of the famous stars in Hollywood, Chris Hemsworth surely never forgets where he came from.
