The London Olympics 2012 are finally set to kick off on Friday.
This year's Opening Ceremony, which is being called "The Isles of Wonder," will commence at 7:30 p.m. on July 27. It will mark the beginning of competitions between more than 10,000 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees.

The games will be officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. A short film starring Daniel Craig as secret agent James Bond will be screened during the television coverage of the ceremony, while Sir Paul McCartney has announced he will perform at the end of the ceremony.
As billions of people worldwide are expected to tune in to the Olympics Opening Ceremony, NBC has decided to live stream the event via their website for people who might not have access to their television network.
Viewers who opt to watch the ceremony on NBCOlympics.com will be required to sign up before they are allowed access to not only the opening ceremony, but all of the Olympic events.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the London Olympics 2012 Opening Ceremony will be the only live stream broadcast that will be run on tape delay.
NBC will reportedly wait until prime time on both the East Coast and West Coast instead of airing the event live, which would be at about 4 p.m. ET.
While the prime time showing is a smart move on the networks part, it will open up a window for more viewers who are looking forward to seeing star participants like David Beckham, Paul McCartney and Maria Sharapova.
Also available for those might be unable to view the opening ceremony, Twitter will be hosting an Olympic events page, which will feature commentary and photos from athletes and fans.
Opening Ceremony events will reportedly include a parade of all of the athletes participating in the 2012 Games, speeches by members of the Olympic Committee and the arrival of the Olympic Flame.
