Thursday morning the full list of nominees for the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced via live stream at the television academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood, Calif. Leading the pack with nominations are "Mad Men" and "American Horror Story."

The 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air live on ABC Sept. 23 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel will host.

AMC's hit drama "Mad Men" scored 17 nominations, including best drama series, and is slated to set the record as the most-revered drama series in television's history. Stars Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss received nominations for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Drama.

"Mad Men" has won the award for best drama series four years in a row. If it wins this year, "Mad Men" will break the current record for receiving the most Emmys in the drama category.

Miniseries "American Horror Story" also received 17 nominations, including one for star Connie Britton.

"Downton Abbey," "Hatfields & McCoys" and "Hemingway & Gellhorn" received many nominations, as well.
