Britain's Prince Harry, presents Operational Service Medals (Iraq) to members of the First and Second Mine Countermeasures Squadrons at the Naval Base, in Portsmouth, southern England March 18, 2011.
In the Army Air Corps, Prince Harry is known as Captain Harry Wales and reported to serve as the official co-pilot gunner in a flying two-man crew via an Apache helicopter.
According to a senior defence, the prince will spend more time with the crew that he is flying with. This is to train and allow Prince Harry to get used to the aircraft.
"He will be practising night operations and he will be operating with troops on the ground," one of the defence sources said.
The formality of the decision whether the bachelor prince will be permitted to head to the war zone after his UK training is yet to be done.
According to other sources from the defence, the danger level in Taliban is 'minimal' which means that Prince Harry is unlikely to be in close contact with other local forces. Hence, they believe that there is no reason for the prince to be deployed.
They added that the prince has been trained well in the escape and evasion tactics and he is reported to be bringing a 9mm pistol in case of a helicopter crash.
Since last February, there has been news with the Taliban's eager desire to capture the prince, dead or alive. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, a Taliban spokesman said they will use all their power to "kill or capture the prince."
Prince Harry should definitely keep up with his being declared as the best in his training class by keeping safe and to return smiling and alive, if he gets to be allowed for deployment.
