The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were said to be "upset" when they found out about their intimate honeymoon photos on the cover of an Australian magazine.

On the front cover of "Woman's Day" magazine, Kate and William were pictured strolling hand in hand while walking along the beach. Prince William was wearing board shorts as he held Kate's hand who was in black bikinis.

The two seem to have just finished dipping, judging from the snorkeling gear they were holding. The private images now appear in several blogs and websites although a few British publications still refuse to show them.

"They feel it is a significant invasion of a very private, special time," said a source. Until now, there had not been any pictures of their honeymoon published due to a collective media agreement not to expose them.

But after more than a year, a top selling weekly magazine from Australia broke the rules and used the unauthorized photographs. Inside the magazine, there are other 15 photos showing the couple in the waters.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge considered their honeymoon to be a very private event after their hugely public wedding," a spokesperson of the palace said. "For this reason they asked the media to respect their privacy. That is something they continue to do."

The couple jetted off to Seychelles last year for their honeymoon. There was an unofficial agreement among the media that they would not publish any photos of the two to respect their quiet and intimate moment.

It is unclear why the Australian magazine chose to publish the photos now as they have not commented on the issue yet. The incident is not the first time an Australian magazine got in trouble with the Royals.
