When "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" first did it, it garnered Warner Bros. over $677 million domestically, in a two-year span. When the "Twilight" saga did it with "Breaking Dawn" Summit received a major profit of over $281 million just for the first half alone, with Part 2 opening later this year. Will "Mockingjay" do the same?
Hunger Games: Catching Fire Sweepstakes
"Lionsgate announced Tuesday that it will release Mockingjay, the third and final book in The Hunger Games trilogy, as two separate movies, with release dates planned for 2014 and 2015." Reported Celebuzz. They also released showdates: the first one will e shown in theatres on 21 November 2014 while the second part will be released 22 November 2015.
"Mockingjay" is the third installment of "The Hunger Games" trilogy, which continues the adventures of KatnissEverdeen in fighting the Capitol. It follows "Catching Fire", which is currently in production and is slated to be released on 22 November 2013.
However, this is not the only big news that is going around fans of the young adult novel.
"Fresh off word that Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman will join the cast in Catching Fire (and off reports that Jena Malone is in talks to take on a role)," reported E Online about the casting done for the first sequel.
If Jenna Malone is casted, not only will she be joining the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson but she will also be in the presence of Philip Seymour Hoffman who won his Academy Award from playing Truman Capote in the biographical film "Capote". He is also known as a theatre actor, with three Tony Award nominations under his belt.
Fans might be engrossed at the idea of the last book being split into two, but fans would rather hear news about the casting of FinnickOdair, an immediate fan favorite and a key player in the next three films. Notable names that always come up are Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch and Garrett Hedlund, but some reports have specific favorites.
"Our two cents? Give the part to Armie Hammer. He can actually emote, and he's damn good at it. Plus, he oozes that self-assured charisma needed for Finnick." said Io9, whose obvious favorite is Armie Hammer.
