The movie 'Dreamgirls' proved that Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson can be award-worthy actresses too. Jennifer Hudson may not have won the 'American Idol' title but she won an Oscar for this movie.

Queen Latifah has made several movie projects already including the most recent musical movie, 'Joyful Noise.' She was nominated for Best Suppoting Actress Oscar fore her role in 'Chicago.' 

Jennifer Lopez has also proven that she can juggle acting and singing fairly. From 'Anaconda,' 'Out of Sight,' 'Enough', to 'Maid in Manhattan,' the 'Let's Get Loud' star has proven her charm to many film audiences. 

Bette Midler's acting skills will always be remembered in classic movies such as 'The First Wives Club,' 'The Stepford Wives,' and 'The Beaches.' She also had her own Oscar nominations in the 70s and the 90s. She starred alongside Barbara Hershey for the friendship themed movie of 'Beaches' which made every watcher be drawn to tears.

Mandy Moore will always be in this list especially after her hit movie 'A Walk To Remember.' Her other films where she performed well include 'Romance & Cigarettes' and 'American Dreamz.'

after having left N'Sync, Justin Timberlake also took off with a bright career as an actor who has undeniably impressed several critics. He was seen in movies like 'The Social Network' and the most recent 'In Time.'

Other male singers included in this list apart from Timberlake are Will Smith, and the iconic Frank Sinatra.
