One Direction's popularity has soared high in a span of only two years. The boys namely Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles have definitely come a long way. From their individual debut on "X-Factor" to their worldwide tours today, One Direction is getting more popular by the second.

With a collaboration set to be done with Canadian crooner, Justin Bieber, the boys have collaboration in mind and this time it's on their own shores. The boys are set to work together with none other than Ed Sheeran. The adorable ginger head guy, who resembles "Harry Potter's" Ron Weasley, is working on two songs the boys of One Direction will be singing.

Though it's too bad that Ed Sheeran won't be singing along with them, Ed will instead be producing the songs to be featured on One Directions' follow-up album for "Up All Night."

"I'm going into the studio in August to produce the tracks for them. I won't feature on the tracks though. There's definitely a divide in genre," explained Sheeran.

According to the Daily Star, the two songs to be featured on One Direction's album were songs written by Sheeran at the age of 17. The boys should be nothing more than grateful to Ed for allowing the use of his own creations.

"I have a tune that I think they're recording for their album that I wrote. They're really cool guys. If you take the boyband element out of it, they're just teenage dudes," said Ed in an interview with XFM.

The relationship between the British boys is more than just a simple business arrangement. In fact, Ed Sheeran admitted to being close to one of the boys and surprisingly this boy  shares the same iconic curls.

"Harry's a lad - I was with him last night actually. Being in music you're quite segregated from everyone and you're always busy doing promo," shared Ed.

"When you're on the same promo run as someone or in the same kind of situation as someone you grow quite close, friendship-wise. He's a very cool guy" added Ed.
