Anne Hathaway's Radish And Hummus Regimen And 5 Other Extreme Celeb Diets [SLIDESHOW]
Anne Hathaway stuck to an intense diet and exercise regimen while slimming down for the filming of "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Les Miserables," surviving on radishes and hummus at one point. But she's not the only celeb who has undertaken an extreme diet.
Anne Hathaway has always been skinny, but for her roles in the two forthcoming films -- in which she plays Catwoman and a tuberculosis-ridden prostitute, respectively -- she had to be even leaner than usual and lost 16 pounds from her already tiny frame. She tells Allure magazine all about it in a new interview:
"I went into the gym for 10 months and didn't come out," Hathaway said, adding that she was "doing some crazy diet stuff ... I'm on day six of detox ... this diet makes me break out, so I love that. Nothing like living on hummus and radishes and then be all, 'And I got a pimple. Yeah!'"
And hummus and radishes are not very filling, obviously. She told the magazine she was eating just 500 calories per day. And even when she's not readying for a rail-thin role, she is still a strict vegan. It's a recent change for the actress, who said she is sometimes tempted to eat cheese, but that she's even pretty much past that:
"I mean, cheese is amazing," she told Allure magazine. "[But] once you're over the cheese hump, there's really nothing left."
Flip through this photo slideshow to learn about the insane diet regimens five other celebrities have undergone in their never-ending quests to stay thin.

Actress Demi Moore has long used the raw diet to maintain her slender figure. In fitting with its name, those who follow this diet eat only uncooked foods. This mostly means vegetables and fruits, but it even applies to meats. No wonder it's been linked to a number of digestive issues.
