Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL), the world's most valuable technology company, said service has been restored to the iCloud after less than two hours of disruption on Wednesday.

The Cupertino, Calif., company posted a message on its iCloud Support site in the afternoon that services were online as of 1:06 p.m. PDT. Mail service as well as Photo Stream services may be slower than normal for consumers who had experienced disruptions, the company said.

Apple didn't provide a cause for the down time. Millions of customers download apps, music and entertainment items from the iCloud, which Apple supports from computer centers worldwide.

Apple shares fell $1.67 to $585.74 in Wednesday trading.
