The final round of the US Open tees off from Olympic Golf Club in San Francisco Sunday at 12:20 p.m. ET with Stephen Ames and Jeff Ogilvie on the tee.
Graeme McDowell and Jim Furyk, who are deadlocked in the lead at (-1), will be the final pair to tee off at 6:10 p.m. ET.
Jim Furyk has a share of the lead and looks to be in good position to win the US Open today.
But, there are 17 golfers within six strokes of the lead heading into the final day, and the brutal set up of the course nearly guarantees that there will be turnover at the top.
Tiger Woods is among those near the lead at (+4), but he finds himself in trouble after he posted a 5-over 75 yesterday to fall from the lead he shared on Friday night.
Many experts were predicting a resurgence for Woods when he had a share of the lead going into the weekend, but the 75 he carded on Saturday tied for the worst round he has ever played at a major.
Experienced vets like Ernie Els, Lee Westwood and Matt Kuchar are all within striking distance of the lead, as well as complete unknowns like Blake Adams (+2) playing in his first Open or 17-year-old Beau Hossler who is still just four strokes off the lead after an even par round yesterday.
Where to watch:
NBC will have live coverage from 4 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET Sunday.
USOpen.com will start live streaming at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday when the first group of the day tees off and continue throughout the day. The US Open feed covers action taking place on the eighth and eighteenth holes at Olympic.
There are also live feeds available for free on FirstRowSports.
Prediction: Past US Open champions at Olympic have been solid, if slightly boring players; the kind of guy who knocks his drive 280 and straight as an arrow, a guy with little overt personality. The guy who best fits that category among the people close to the lead is Jim Furyk. His simple, consistent, effective game will allow him to outlast field on what promises to be a brutal course.
