Jesse Eisenberg is quickly becoming one of the biggest names in Hollywood, and "The Social Network" star is about to conquer new acting territory: audiobook narration.

Eisenberg, who previously lent his voice to the computer-animated film "Rio," will narrate "Colin Fischer," a young adult novel by screenwriters Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz, Mediabistro's GalleyCat blog reported. Miller and Stentz's screenwriting credits include "X-Men: First Class" and "Thor." "Colin Fischer" will be published by Penguin Group's Razorbill imprint and is scheduled for release on Nov. 8.

Eisenberg joins a long list of actors who have narrated audiobooks. We're not sure exactly how much he'll get paid for his voice, but regular voiceover actors can get $300 to $1,500 for a job, according to a Yahoo! report, although a different account from Publishing Central lists higher fees that can range from $4,000 to $6,000. We can only presume the going rate for A-list actors is higher than this.

But even if audiobook voiceover isn't a big payday, it doesn't mean celebrities won't or can't do a decent job. Think of actors such as Morgan Freeman, who narrated the documentary "March of the Penguins." He could probably read the nutrition facts on a can of soup and make it sound like Shakespeare.

Willem Dafoe’s audiobook work includes the Stephen King novel “One Past Midnight: The Langoliers.”

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star narrated part of Keith Richards’ biography “Life,” which makes sense, as they are good friends in real life. Depp even partially based the character of Jack Sparrow on the Rolling Stones guitarist.

“He’s pretty flawless,” Michele McGonigle, Hachette Audio’s director of audio production and executive producer told Publishers Weekly in May. “He’s a pro and knows Keith so well, he knows how to tell the story.”

Michael Douglas will narrate his famous father’s upcoming book, “I Am Spartacus! Making a Film, Breaking the Blacklist.” Douglas’ memoir is scheduled for release on June 12.

“Colin Fischer” will be about a 14-year-old boy with Asperger’s syndrome, GalleyCat reported.

Anne Hathaway narrated L. Frank Baum’s famous children’s book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”

“Gilmore Girls” fans remember Edward Herrmann as Rory’s stuffy but lovable grandfather, but this actor also has a huge voice role under his belt: narrating Ayn Rand’s famous novel “Atlas Shrugged.”

Jeremy Irons, fondly known as the voice of Scar in Disney’s “The Lion King,” has done a ton of audiobook work. You can listen to him read “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, “James and the Giant Peach” by Roald Dahl, “Lolita” by Vladimir Nabokov and “Brideshead Revisited” by Evelyn Waugh.

Samuel L. Jackson narrated Adam Mansbach’s parenting book “Go the F**k to Sleep.” He also participated in a star-studded recording of the Bible, providing the voice of God. He also narrated the Chester Himes novel “A Rage in Harlem.”

James Earl Jones has one up on fellow Bible reader Samuel L. Jackson. Jones read the entire King James version of the New Testament!

The hunky Liam Neeson unveiled his softer side by reading “The Polar Express.”

Brad Pitt was one of several celebrity readers for the Dustin Lance Black play “8,” which challenged California’s Proposition 8. He was joined by fellow actors George Clooney and Martin Sheen, among others.

The “How I Met Your Mother” star was one of the narrators for audio versions of the Neil Simon play “Biloxi Blues” and the Jon Robin Baitz play “The Paris Letter.”

Scarlett Johansson may have starred in a film version of the Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus novel “The Nanny Diaries,” but this pretty woman narrated the audiobook version.

Susan Sarandon narrated the Carson McCullers novel “The Member of the Wedding.” Her other voice work includes participating in readings of Homer’s “Iliad” and “Odyssey.”

Martin Sheen narrated a book by none other than the Dalai Lama: “Beyond Religion: Ethics for a Whole World.” He also narrated “Along the Way: The Journey of a Father and Son,” a memoir he co-wrote with his son, Emilio Estevez. Geez, what about including Charlie Sheen?

Stanley Tucci has narrated many a written work, including the David Lindsey novel “The Color of Night” and the G. Bruce Knecht book “The Proving Ground.”
